“This is not a running event; this is a fundraising event!”
I've heard this phrase a lot since I started running for St. Jude in 2002 and this year, more than ever, it remains true. Out of an abundance of caution and respect for the safety of runners, volunteers, and kids of St. Jude, the St. Jude Memphis to Peoria Run will not physically take place this year. Though our plan for the run this year may look a little different, in these challenging times one thing will not change: families will never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food—because all a family should have to worry about is helping their child live.
Fundraising for St. Jude has always been the #1 goal of the St. Jude Runs. The five days spent on the run is just the reward for all the hard work and fundraising efforts accomplished throughout the year. And while I will miss the time spent with my St. Jude family, I will re-focus on the objective of this time together...raising money to support the life-saving work of the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Please consider helping me meet my fundraising goal by donating now. Every single donation helps in the battle against childhood cancer. Together, we are making a difference...
Thanks for your continued support,
