The "Virtual Memphis to Peoria Run" of 2020 is in the books and I am looking forward to July 13, 2021, when we head off for the 40th Memphis to Peoria Run -- hope that our world is a bit back to the normal state by then and we are actually able to "Run for the Kids" from Memphis to Peoria! I am still turning money in for this year and if you have not given for this year & wish to I will gladly accept your kind donation for the "Kids of St. Jude".
Thanks to all you generous donors - you are the very best!
July 11, 2020
Our "Virtual Memphis to Peoria Run" will kick off this Tuesday! Definitely a different Run this year. We are still going to sign up for segments to run from Wednesday noon until Saturday 6 PM when we traditionally get back into Peoria. My runs will be around Metamora here but still putting the miles in and "Runnin' For The Kids"! Channel 25 will have a "Telethon" on Saturday evening but not as long as it usually is and of course not the number of people at the Telethon. Thanks to all who have donated to St. Jude and hope that those that have not will still be able to donate. As Always appreciate all of you in your support of this "ole runner"!
Update June 2020
There will be a Memphis to Peoria Run this year BUT it will be different than the past. This year it will be a "Virtual Run". Our Run Leaders & the Run Office Staff are making plans to have activities for the Memphis Runners from July 14th to the 18th - the dates of the 2020 Memphis Run. All activities have not been made available to us yet but one thing I know is that we will "sign up to run" near our home & we take to the roads during that time (practicing social distancing) but foremost staying safe! The goal is to have someone runnin' from noon on July 15th until 6 p.m. on July 18th - just as we would be doing during that time! During these unprecedented times the Memphis Runners will make it work! I am still collecting donations to help the Kids & their families of St. Jude. You have donated in the past (and I appreciate all those past donations) but hoping that you will help again this year to surpass my fund raising goal. The Kids of St. Jude are still battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases. This is my 31st year of runnin' this most worthy fund raising event. Thanks to generous donors like you, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — all a family should worry about is helping their child defeat this terrible disease. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. The doctors of St. Jude share their findings with doctors all over the world. The mission is to save the lives of ALL KIDS!
Thank You so much for your donation!
RUNNIN' FOR THE KIDS!!
