This year may look different, but the St. Jude Runs have always been first and foremost a FUNDRAISING event.....and that has NOT changed! That is why for the 23rd year, I will be participating in the St. Jude Memphis to Peoria Run. Please help me reach my fundraising goal for the kids of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, who are battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
As most of you know, I became a St. Jude patient in 1988. Iremember meeting the St. Jude runners and I thought they were the craziestpeople I ever met! I couldn’t believe they were willing to subject themselvesto running (YUCK!) – for me! It was so inspiring! Despite my dislike ofrunning, I vowed that I would one day join them on their journey. But it wasn’tthat simple. At 15 years old, I relapsed. Each summer I continued to watch therunners, and each year I was more and more determined to join them! Not justfor me, but for all the kids who would never get the chance, and for the kidsto come who would need hope of their own someday! FINALLY, in 1998, I was ableto became a St. Jude runner. It was, and still is, a true honor to be a part ofsuch an amazing group!
THANK YOU for your continued support and generosity over theyears! I am so grateful for your dedication to the kids of St. Jude and yourcommitment to help all of us! St. Jude gave me this life (twice), so I want togive back and help give kids hope, just like the runners did for me so manyyears ago.
If you are able, please partner with me once again, tosupport these kids and St. Jude! I couldn’t do this without St. Jude – and St.Jude can’t do it without YOU!! THANK YOU!
Thanks to generous donors:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago.
St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer, and neither will I. Will you support me by making a donation? With all my gratitude! Amy
