In 2019, I crossed a bucket list item off my list. I ran from Memphis to Peoria. You know, 465 miles. In August. When both Memphis and South Central Illinois are known for being so comfortably temperate. But it was the best thing I've ever done. I made new friends - kind of family now, honestly (love ya, Blue 12.5!) - and most important, we all did it for the kids. Our one run raised over $1.5M for the kids, and as a whole, the Peoria Runs raised over $5.6M. So I'm back for more!
Even though the Run will look different this year, the need and the mission remain the same. We'll still be running the 465 mile relay, and we'll still be running at all hours of the day and night. We'll just be running following social distancing guidelines, and I'll be running in Colorado while most other runners will be running in Central Illinois and/or Memphis. So that means I'm still fundraising and I'm still going to get to the $3,000 goal that I set back before the world went crazy.
Please help me reach my fundraising goal for the kids of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, who are battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Thanks to generous donors:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago.
St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer, and neither will I. Will you support me by making a donation?
