I am a St. Jude Hero! I have chosen to run for a reason bigger than myself by fundraising for the kids and families at St. Jude. I am training to cross my first marathon finish line on October 2 at the Twin Cities Marathon. As my first marathon, I wanted to accomplish something more than a race and give to a cause greater than myself. With your donation, we can cross the fundraising finish line together. My goal for this fundraiser is $2,620 (in honor of the marathon distance)! The money you donate helps find a cure for childhood cancer.
Why St. Jude? Many of my family and friends have experienced cancer throughout their lives. Also as a survivor of a childhood health trauma myself, I understand how difficult and challenging it can be to overcome the pain, fear, anxiety, worry, etc. that comes with going through such an experience. I want to make a small difference for the kids and families who are currently going through a similar experience as myself, family and friends. Any and all support helps!
Did you know:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Donate today to help me reach my goal of $2620. Even when the race is over, the fight to end childhood cancer continues. I simply want to be a small contributor to the ultimate goal of conquering childhood cancer. We cannot give up and must continually keep our eyes on Jesus! As Lecrae says "They say fear haunts you and pain hates; I say pain strengthens and fear drives faith; I'll find you, just hold on and I'll find you". Keep looking and holding on to the Lord; He will find us and a way!
