Running for a reason. That is what 2022 has become for me. I ran my first half marathon in February. I raised money for St. Jude, I did this to honor my mom. Next on my bucket list is a full marathon for St. Jude to continue to run for mom. I have an odd bucket list but I've learned there is no time like the present to make things happen. Life is to busy and if you don't slow down, it'll pass you right by. In the past year, I've learned to slow down, learn what is important, learned when to say no and learned when to say yes. I've learned life is too short....buy the shoes, eat the cake or in this case run the 26.2 miles.
In April I will be traveling to Nashville to run for a purpose. My mom Rose Wolf was a big supporter of St. Jude. I am running this for her, to honor her and raise money for something she believed in. Once again all signs were a go, it was a sign from the free weekend to the accommodations.
I've trained and will continue to train. Its not easy but anything worth fighting for never is. Next on my bucket list....a pull up. And at this point I think 26 miles might be easier.
I appreciate any support, financially or encouragement. Lets make a difference together.
A little bit about St. Jude:
Did you know:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Donate today to help me reach my goal. Even when the race is over, the fight to end childhood cancer continues.
