HOLA! I am Cenia, attorney from Puerto Rico, mother of two, wife and runner, among others. This year I am embarking on my biggest running challenge yet and have chosen to run for a reason bigger than myself by fundraising for the kids and families at St. Jude. Therefore, I will be running my second marathon (I did Chicago in 2018) and the largest in the world, the TCS New York City Marathon on November 1, 2020.
I am mixing my two passions: running and giving back to others. Most of us, if not all, have been impacted directly or indirectly by cancer. In my humble and personal opinion, the most heartbreaking of these being pediatric cancer. Therefore, I registered as a "hero" (their term, not mine) for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in order to raise funds to help them continue with their mission of advancing cures, and means of prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. In St. Jude, no child is ever denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay. So every cent you donate will be to help them fight childhood cancer.
I will run to honor Eugenio (childhood friend) and Camila (Lupe and Baby's Granddaughter) as they were/are warriors who fought the disease with courage.
If I have not yet convinced you to donate, please know that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Also, St. Jude freely shares their discoveries to other scientists and doctors worldwide since all they want is for no child to die from cancer ever again.
Please DONATE TODAY to help me reach my goal and even better, help all the children and families who benefit from St. Jude. Every contribution counts, no matter how small! Remember that even when my race is over, the fight to end childhood cancer continues. ¡GRACIAS TOTALES!
