Hi friends and family,
It's official, I'm running a half marathon on March 28th. That's 13.1 miles...so about 12 miles more than what I ever thought I'd run voluntarily. The past couple of years have been a wild one, filled with the good, the bad and the unexpected. Despite all the changes - or possibly because of it - I have never felt stronger and more supported by family and friends, old and new. Fueled by the immense gratitude I feel, I am taking on this challenge and plan to crush it!
While my motivation to run might have been a selfish one, I am more than happy to use this opportunity to raise money for St. Jude in their fight to end childhood cancer. Please help me reach my fundraising goal. I thank you in advance for all your support, whether or not you donate :)
If you are unfamiliar with St. Jude, here are a few things to note.
You can also visit their website for more info: https://www.stjude.org/
- Families never have to worry about anything other than helping their child live, which is why they never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80%. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90%, and they won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
