Dear family and friends,
I was on the treadmill at work just before the holidays and I saw an ad for St. Jude Children's Hospital. And, I literally stopped in my tracks.
Looking at the faces on the screen, I saw my own children's and prayed, "I don't know what I'm supposed to do with this reality that there are children who are literally fighting for their lives and parents who are looking for someone to fight for their child's life." My heart broke but at that moment, I knew I wanted to do something to help stand for those who needed help. I know I've been blessed with a love for running and I want to use that blessing to help love and serve others. So, I have chosen to run for a reason bigger than myself by fundraising for the kids and families at St. Jude.
I am training to cross the finish line of the Rock 'n' Roll DC Half Marathon and with your donation we can cross the fundraising finish line together because the money you donate helps find a cure for childhood cancer.
Did you know:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90%, and they won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Would you please help me reach my fundraising goal by donating today? Every little bit would be so appreciated by me and all those who rely on the work of St. Jude. Even when the race is over, the fight to end childhood cancer continues.
Thank you so very much!
