This March i am running (another) half marathon. These things usually kill me - but this one may save a child along the way. Rather than just run another half, i have decided to use this run to raise 1000 for St Jude, an organization that supports families challenged with childhood cancer.
I set 2 primary goals for 2020; be present and have purpose. This run provides an opportunity for me to accomplish a quick goal with a strong purpose. I have done halves before (and don't plan on ever doing a full marathon). That said, this run passes through some of our countries most meaningful monuments in Washington DC and has the potential for huge personal emotional impact.
Please help me raise my goal of $1000 in support of care and research through St Jude's. Join me and BE A HERO as i run in Archer's name.
Did you know:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90%, and they won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Donate today to help me reach my goal. Even when the race is over, the fight to end childhood cancer continues.
