As many of you probably know from my pesky RunKeeper social media shares over the last several months, I have started running again this year! Running has been something that I have dabbled with off and on over the last several years, but I've had trouble maintaining a commitment to it. To attempt to fix that, I am currently training for a series of races, including a 10K in December, a half marathon in February, and a full marathon in March.
When I have run races in the past, I've always gotten more out of it when there is a reason bigger than myself for the race. This donation page is for the half marathon - Rock n Roll New Orleans - that I'll be running in February, and all proceeds donated through this page will go toward St. Jude's, and their wonderful mission to fight childhood cancer. Help me reach my $1000 goal for St. Jude by donating what you can - every little bit helps!
Did you know:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90%, and they won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Donate today to help me reach my goal. Even when the race is over, the fight to end childhood cancer continues.
