So I was running a 5K with my phone, and I never run with my phone but this time I had to for reasons, and after I finished I saw that I had pocket posted a fundraiser for St. Judes. A week later, a St. Jude ad hit me with an invitation to run Chicago 2020. Now, I've been out of the marathon game for a few years, but I am trying to get back to a level of mental and physical well being and Chicago has always been on my marathon wishlist. So, why not?
Besides, St. Jude is a great cause, as you can see from their copy-pasta below:
Did you know:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Donate today to help me reach my goal. Even when the race is over, the fight to end childhood cancer continues.
