Hey Everyone - thanks so much for your donations to St Jude in 2019. I completed my 12 Half Marathons in 12 months (actually 17 in 18 months before Covid, and my knees, stopped everything). Your generosity is remarkable and very much appreciated.
The photo above is from 1993 of my big brother Tim at a Notre Dame game; we lost Tim in January, and his obituary requested donations to St Jude, a charity he supported his whole life, so as you look at the scroll on this page, you’ll see a number of tributes to Tim.
In my note to you after the 2019 St Jude Half Marathon, I told you I’d be running this race as long as my knees, hips, etc...will carry me. Running through that hospital campus was / is inspiring. So here I am bad knees and all...just a slow, old, fat retiree begging you for money (you had to know that was coming!!). I am hopeful that you can include St Jude in your 2020 charitable giving plans. As you know, St Jude HELPS CHILDREN FIGHT CANCER. Anything you can offer is a big help:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Thank you so much for considering St Jude. Stay safe!!
