Team Amanda 2.0
Back in June of 2019, I set off on a journey that continues today. This was a personal journey for me in making the decision to change my life by taking the first serious “run” of entire life while committing to raise as much money as I could for St Jude in memory of my late wife, Amanda.
I’m so very proud to say that I’ve enjoyed a great deal of success in both endeavours. By September of that year, I successfully ran 3.1 miles without stopping or dying and I was thrilled to have donated over $5000 to St Jude with the help of many friends and family members. Thank YOU for the inspiration and your generosity.
Since that day in September, an awful lot has happened. With the pandemic, most races and fund raising activities for St Jude were severely impacted and for me personally, I used the flexibility was given to work from home to continue down my running journey. I’ve lost 80 pounds and have completed many races, the longest of which was 9 miles. So, I’ve set off to accomplish another running goal by training for a 13.1 Mile race in April and I’m hoping you can help me accomplish my ongoing goal to raise money for St Jude once again.
Anything you feel comfortable donating would be sincerely appreciated by me and all who so loved Amanda.
A bit more about St Jude:
Did you know:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Donate today to help me reach my goal. Even when the race is over, the fight to end childhood cancer continues.
