My name is Nick Kenney and I have chosen to run a marathon -- the St. Jude Memphis Marathon. I've also chosen to try to raise some money for the kids of St. Jude.
St. Jude Hero? That's the title attached to this website with my name on it.
St. Jude Hero? Let me tell you about some of them.
There's Jordyn, a teen gymnast who just won the regional championship in vault. There's Hailey, who got up in front of 80,000 people to sing the national anthem. There's Chandler, who ran a half marathon with the last remnants of chemotherapy still coursing through his body.
As an employee at ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude, Jordyn and Hailey and Chandler are just a few of the patients whom I have had the honor and privilege to meet. They also granted me the trust and responsibility to tell their stories of pain and struggle and uncertainty and ultimate triumph over a disease that, even with great research and advancements in treatment, still claims one in five children who have it.
St. Jude Hero? Not me, I'm merely on a mission to cross the finish line.
St. Jude is on a mission to make sure no child dies in dawn of life.
Donate today to help me reach my fundraising goal because even when my marathon is over, the fight to end childhood cancer continues.
