My dearest family, friends, colleagues, and friends of friends, I have decided to take the challenge of running in this year’s New York Marathon and will do it by raising funds for St Jude’s Children’s Hospital! I am blessed enough to have two healthy children for now and pray all the time for their health. But there are many children that need our help and so do their parents! People who know my story ask me all the time, “why in the world would you run a marathon”? For those of you that don’t know, I have had 6 knee surgeries due to torn ACL’s in both knees, torn LCL & MCL in right knee, torn meniscus, and torn ligaments in my left ankle! But I run for all those that can’t run. I run to raise money for organizations to help others. And this year this marathon will hit a special place in my heart because it’s for kids who I’m sure would love nothing more than to be outside running around. So I will train hard for them and run in their honer. Help me be a hero for St Jude and at the same time be a hero yourself and donate to my page below. I have a hefty goal but I’m sure with your help I can get there. Not only would I appreciate your donations but if you could share my post and fundraising page I would greatly appreciate it as well!
Did you know:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90%, and they won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Donate today to help me reach my goal. Even when the race is over, the fight to end childhood cancer continues.
