As you may or may not know, running is the huge passion of mine. Taking part in the biggest marathon in the world in NYC next fall is one of my biggest dreams and goals I've set in my life and I wanted to make it even more special with fundraising money for the charity of my choice. I've chosen St. Jude Children's Hospital, because I've found the spirit of that institution to be the most profound way of helping children in need and their families. Here are some fact about St. Jude Children's Research Hospital:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90%, and they won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
In other words, money I'm raising is covering all the expenses of the treatments and all that goes with it so patients and their families don't have to worry about any finances. Any donation is highly appreciated and I can't express my gratitude enough for each one of them.
Thank you so much for being a part of it.
