I may be registered as a St. Jude Hero but I really don’t consider myself one when compared to these kids and what they go through. Let’s face the true fact of the matter, cancer and cancer treatment just flat out suck. And when you are a kid, it sucks even more. So in my book, they are the real heroes. The reason I am running is to fundraise and do what little I can for the kids and families at St. Jude. I am training hard and hopefully will cross the finish line on race day; but with your donation, I’m counting on a lot more kids who will be able to cross the finish line because the money you donate helps them get treatment and hopefully, one day find a cure for childhood cancer.
Did you know:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90%, and they won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Donate today to help me reach my goal. Even when the race is over, the fight to end childhood cancer continues.
