The idea of a child with cancer just breaks my heart and I have always loved St. Jude's for helping them fight that battle, providing treatment without charging the families and continuing to research for a cure.
I have registered for the St. Jude Half Marathon in Memphis, TN on December 7th and hope to raise at least $2,000 for the kids and families at St. Jude's. I am planning to walk or walk/run or who knows, maybe run! My goal is to cross that finish line smiling with a big check to give to St. Jude's.
I would ask that you please consider making a donation to support me in my fundraising efforts. Here are a few facts you may not know about St. Jude Children's Hospital:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90%, and they won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Donate today to help me reach my goal. Even when the race is over, the fight to end childhood cancer continues.
