Last November, a dear childhood friend, Toral, lost her battle against brain cancer at the young age of 36 years old. She fought more valiantly than I thought was possible and with a grace and strength that astounded me. She continues to inspire me in so many ways with my work and with the way I choose to live each day. She had such a generous heart and cared deeply about so many different causes, but she asked that donations in her memory be made to St. Jude because of the amazing work they do in working to find a cure for childhood cancer. To honor her and celebrate her amazing spirit, I signed up to run a half-marathon in March in DC (a city Toral loved) as a St. Jude Hero!
Did you know:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90%, and they won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Donate today to help me reach my goal in honor of Toral the Warrior. Thank you!
