I am for the second time a St. Jude Hero participating for the first time in the inaugural St. Jude IRONMAN 70.3 Memphis! Two of my closest friends and I will be participating in the relay portion of this event. It consists of a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike ride, 13.1-mile run, I’ll be biking for 56 miles. Kids and families of St. Jude hold a special place in my heart and I’ve been fortunate enough to have crossed paths with a few throughout my life. I am witness that families don’t pay for a single thing while with St Jude. This event is also special because my two friends are currently St Jude PHD candidates who are helping find a cure. With your donation, we can cross the fundraising finish line together becuase the money you donate helps find a cure for childhood cancer.
Did you know:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Donate today to help me reach my goal. In January I begin my pledge to sobriety until I reach my $2000 commitment. Even when the race is over, the fight to end childhood cancer continues.
