10 years ago I lost my favorite person (and I was far from alone in that) on earth to cancer, my uncle Jimmy, he was only 54. He was funny, smart, and insane and I miss him literally all the time. I committed to run 10 marathons to raise money for various cancer related charities to do something in his memory and to keep myself from going crazy with grief. I did that and a couple more and raised $50,000 along with way with your help, love and support. Now I’ve decided to do another The Chicago Marathon and I chose St. Jude’s this time because I can’t imagine a little kid going through what he did and the anguish of a family trying to find help. So....please help me help them, every dollar counts!
Did you know:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90%, and they won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Donate today to help me reach my goal. Even when the race is over, the fight to end childhood cancer continues.
