If you found this page, you know the deal: I'm running in the Chicago Marathon, raising money for St. Jude. St. Jude is a nonprofit that's been close to my heart for a long time and I want to do something more to support it. My grandfather, Thomas Hau, was an avid supporter of St Jude during his life and this year marked the decade anniversary of his passing. In large part, this run is to support him. The other part, is because St Jude is simply a fantastic organization.
Did you know:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
My other motivation is to spend time with my wife. While I've loved running for a long time, it's really brought my wife and I close together during our relationship. We bond over times, routes, races, and mostly, the muscle pain! Last year she ran for St Jude. This year, I'll take the mantle!
Please donate to help me reach my goal. Support me and this incredible charity!
