Thank you for viewing my fundraising page!
As you may know, our daughter, Kristen, was diagnosed at age 4 with a very aggressive medulloblastoma brain tumor that had metastasized down her spine. Our family was devastated.
Immediately following Kristen's diagnosis, she stood at the top of the hospital steps with her arms raised, muscles flexed and exclaimed, "I'm so strong!" (A cherished memory).
While being interviewed for a program, Kristen was asked about her dreams..."I want to be a Mommy and have children and just enjoy being a little girl right now." However, Kristen's dreams were cut short. We had 1 1/2 years with Kristen and from day one at St. Jude we felt the sincere dedication and compassion of all who took care of the children.
Please help me raise money for St Jude so they can help as many kids as possible have their dreams fulfilled! These children are in the ultimate marathon of their lives who may be too sick to run or walk today, but someday will be able to stand at the starting line of a 5K or ultra marathon and say "I'm so strong!"... Let's GO!
Kristen is our bright light shining in heaven! But today, let's help these children who are now fighting for their lives... and living with continued hope to let their lights shine brightly on earth for as long as possible!
A couple St Jude CRH facts:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90%, and they won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
