On February 4th, more than a half-century ago, late entertainer Danny Thomas envisioned a hospital that would treat children regardless race, color, creed or their family's ability to pay. A facility where research would shine light into the darkness. His vision became a reality when St. Jude Children's Hospital opened on February 4, 1962. Since then, St. Jude has become one of the world's premier pediatric research institutions. Today, St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancers and other life-threatening diseases. His dream and the St. Jude mission continues because of supporters like you and me.
During the month of February, I am commiting to 62 miles with purpose. I would like to ask for your support celebrating the founding of St. Jude by making a donation and knowing, together we are MAKING A DIFFERENCE in the life of a child.
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Let's GIVE HOPE to ALL LITTLE HEROES fighting big battles!
