Earlier this year, I made the decision to run the Chicago Marathon while raising money for St Jude Children's hospital. While the status of the event is still TBD, I still plan on training and honoring my commitment to support such an amazing cause.
Running has always been more to me than just a sport or activity - it has served as a time to reflect, made me stronger (both physically and emotionally) and more than anything, showed me that I can reach my goals one step at a time. Knowing that with your help, my running has the potential to help families in need makes each step that much more meaningful.
As a St Jude Hero, I want to help make sure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.Did you know:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
