I am running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon in October, and I am doing so as a St. Jude Hero! I have chosen to run as a Hero because I want to run for a reason bigger than myself. I can think of no better motivation to get through the 26.2 miles than the kids and families at St. Jude. St. Jude is an amazing hospital that is dedicated to finding cures and working to save children's lives. I am training to cross the finish line on race day for these kids. With your donation, you can also have a huge impact on these kids' lives because the money you donate helps find a cure for childhood cancer.
Some awesome facts about St. Jude:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90%, and they won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
These kids are strong, and they deserve every fighting chance to beat their cancer and go on to live amazing lives! Any donation, small or large, will go a long way towards helping these kids in their fight. Even when the race is over, the fight to end childhood cancer continues.
