I am once again running in support of St. Jude's Children's Hospital, a charity and organization that means great importance to me. This year, I am running the Mount Desert Island Half Marathon on coastal Maine on October 20th as a part of my quest to running 50 states. My goal is set at $1,000, but I want to challenge you to make me raise it. When I went to Memphis for my first marathon for St. Jude's in 2014, I was greatly impacted by the children, the families and the stories I witnessed. Ever since I have dedicated my running and charitable contributions to this organization, and will continue to do so until there is a 100% survival rate to childhood cancer.
Please join me in my efforts.
Thanks for your help.
Did you know:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90%, and they won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
