I am running in the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Marathon Weekend again this year! I am running to help St. Jude ensure no family ever receives a bill from St. Jude, whether it be for housing, treatment, food, or travel.
This year will be my 5th year running in the Marathon weekend, my 1st time attempting the full marathon (yeah, all 26.2 miles of it!), and my 1st time with Adam’s Army!
To provide a very brief background, Adam was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in 2014 at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He proceeded to receive over 1,000 doses of chemotherapy over the following 2 and ½ years at St. Jude. Luckily, Adam reached remission and remains in remission today.
While Adam’s story will continue, the stories of too many end too early. A year into his treatment and after losing a close mentor, Adam realized that childhood cancer can and will end with us supporting St. Jude. Adam wanted to give back to the foundation that was helping save his life as well as advancing the survival rates of all pediatric catastrophic diseases. In 2015, Adam vowed to raise $100,000 for St. Jude but with the support from friends and family in that first year, the goal has increased to $1 million. I am so excited to be part of Adam’s Army this year!
Flash forward to 2019, Adam’s Army has raised over $700,000!! We have our eyes set on reaching the $1 million mark by this December. So, will you join us?
If you are unable to run with us, please consider donating. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing Adam’s Army’s mission as any action on this helps save lives.
Thank you for your time and consideration for this cause,
