2019 is our 6th consecutive year we will be running the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Half Marathon in December. Last year, I exceeded my personal goal to raise $10,000 in total donations for this great organization. Once again, this year, I kick of my campaign to exceed that same goal to raise over $10,000. Will you help be part of our team?
Alyssa and I got involved with this organization by a good friend Alicia Smith who supported St. Jude, even as she was battling brain cancer. In her memory (and the memory of so many that have lost their lives), we run to keep her legacy alive.
For those that have supported every year, THANK YOU! For those of you who are considering our team for the first time, we hope you will join us in our pursuit that one day there is a cure!
Did you know:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90%, and they won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
