I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
2 Timothy 4:7
On December 7th, Team Andre will participate in the St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend. We dedicate our fundraising efforts to support the kids and families at St. Jude and in memory of my amazing son Andre. He is my hero, my angel and my love.
It is hard to believe it has been over 7 years since our Andre has gone to heaven. Although we miss him everyday, we continue to feel his love surrounding us.
Andre received the best medical care this world had to offer at St.Jude Children's Hospital. He endured 6 rounds of chemotherapy, 2 stem cell transplants, and countless procedures. The technology used at St. Jude is cutting edge and Andre was so proud to be a part of research destined to change how childhood cancer would be treated. St. Jude has attracted the most talented and committed research scientists, doctors, and nurses.
St. Jude is a place filled with endless hope. They received Andre and our family with open arms. Doctors and nurses treated Andre like he was one of their own.
Andre battled his disease for 2 years and 4 months and his faith in God only grew stronger. All who prayed for him and supported him echoed his mantra "Keeping the Faith". His courageous journey and life on earth ended on June 15th, 2012.
We are forever grateful to St. Jude for their tireless efforts to cure our Andre. We are committed to fundraising so that our friends at St. Jude can continue finding cures and saving children.
Did you know:
- Families never receive a bill from St.Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St.Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Please keep the children and families at St. Jude in your prayers. Even when this race ends, their fight continues.
Thanks for your support,
