2021 will once again see the cancellation of many road races due to COVID. It is time for trail racers to step up and many trail races continue to happen. We have a big agenda for 2021 and I hope to capture your attention and donations with them. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital needs your help so here is what we are going to do:
April 28, 2021 I will be attempting to cross the Grand Canyon to the North Rim and back to the south rim. This is often known as Rim2Rim2Rim or R3. It will be approximately 47 miles with about 11,000 feet of elevation gain.
On July 31, 2021 I will compete in the Badger Trail Races 100 mile distance.
On September 26, 2021 Berlin Marathon (assuming it happens and travel is allowed).
On October 30, 2021 I will seek my revenge at the Javelina Jundred 100 mile trail race (scene of my only DNF and first trip to a medical tent in 2019).
We will add to this list as the year goes on.
Donate $250 and I will dye my remaining hair any color of your choice.
Donate $500 I will get a St. Jude tattoo. If that doesn’t happen and we hit the $5000 before the end of October I will get a St. Jude tattoo.
I’m always looking for creative ways to draw donations and attention for the fundraiser so let me know what I can do.
Let’s Go!!!
I am a St. Jude Hero! I have chosen to run for a reason bigger than myself by fundraising for the kids and families at St. Jude. I am training to cross the finish line on race day and with your donation we can cross the fundraising finish line together because the money you donate helps find a cure for childhood cancer.
Did you know:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Donate today to help me reach my goal. Even when the race is over, the fight to end childhood cancer continues.
