This December I will hit the streets of Memphis to run in the St. Jude Half Marathon. This race is more than just another run. This race, I run for a reason. This race, I run in memory and in honor of my little sister, Anna.
In 2003 by parents heard the words that no parent ever deserves to hear "Your child has cancer." In 2003, my family changed forever. Anna was your typical happy little girl who loved Cinderella. In Anna's time here, she went through so much more than anyone can ever imagine having to go through at her age. More than any child should have to go through.
Anna may have lost her battle to cancer, but the research being done at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is making strides each and every day to ensure that one day, no family had to go through what we did. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital has made an incredible amount of progress in figuring out how to fight and cure childhood cancer and other life threatening diseases. The families at St. Jude are never going to recieve a bill for their child's treatment. Because a parent shouldnt have to worry about anything besides for the life of their child. So the fight at St. Jude isn't over. Not while a child is still fighting their own fight against cancer.
So please, donate today, and help me reach my goal. Even when the race is over, the fight to end childhood cancer continues.
