I am a St. Jude Hero! Not really... but that's what they call the people who run and raise donations for the kids of St. Jude. What am I? I am a grateful mother who's heart will always be within the walls of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. 18 years ago, we walked through the front doors of St. Jude with very little hope for a future for our baby boy. No parent should ever have to be told that their 13 month old baby has a terminal disease and will only live to be 5-10 years of age. Because of St. Jude, we have beaten that number, and we continue to fight for another day. Because of St. Jude, we will watch Caleb go down the aisle in May and graduate high school. Because of St. Jude, we have the HOPE that we had lost.
So now, Fluffy Mom will walk/run or crawl through another half marathon. Why? Because Caleb can't. And because I want to continue to fight for him, and for all of the kids of St. Jude, by running the race and fundraising for them.I am training to cross the finish line on race day and with your donation we can cross the fundraising finish line together because the money you donate helps find a cures, for childhood cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.
Did you know:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Donate today to help me reach my goal. Even when the race is over, the fight to end childhood cancer and other catastrophic illnesses continues.
