Boxwood Doodles is raising money for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month during the month of September in honor of Brecken Shadow Owens for every puppy who passes through our program.
Breck is the great, great, nephew of Glen Shadow who many bernedoodle fanciers can appreciate for his tireless efforts to bring the Bernese Mountain Dog to the United States. The AKC (American Kennel Club) officially registered the Bernese Mountain Dog in 1937 thanks to Mr. Shadow.
Breck is the son of Valerie & Rob Owens of Ruston, Louisiana. And big brother to Vale, who was born in Memphis during Brecks treatment. Breck was diagnosed in March 2018, and completed his 3 year treatment in October 2020. He remains cancer free and is in remission.
