Jeremy was diagnosed with Acute Lymphostatic Leukemia,
B-cell with Philadelphia Chromosome on December 22, 2018. This started his journey with St. Jude. Jeremy was the first documented case of his type of Leukemia and his rare heart condition, Shon’s Syndrome, which caused him to have two mechanical heart valves. Treating Jeremy’s cancer required his medical team to create a brand new treatment plan that allowed his heart and valves to be cared for and his cancer treated. Jeremy reached remission on February 14, 2019 after six weeks of treatment. The treatment plan included three years of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, a combination that had never been used to treat Leukemia. In 2021 St Jude published a research paper sharing their findings from Jeremy’s treatment with the world. Jeremy successfully completed treatment on October 28, 2021.
His medical team at St Jude quickly became close family to Jeremy, sharing many milestones, celebrations, and difficult days together. Jeremy missed having weekly appointments at St Jude when he finished treatment and looked forward to the next time he would come to the hospital.
Contributions to St Jude made it possible for the research required to treat Jeremy’s case, procedures, on-campus hotel stays, monthly admissions for procedures, weekly medications, chemo, and immunotherapy that cost approximately $30,000 per month. Jeremy also received psychological support and attended the school program.

Your donations make this possible and give parents hope.
