On November 3, 2022, Susan Muffett departed this life. As part of her legacy, her family is asking for donations to help support St. Jude instead of sending flowers. Her youngest grandchild, Winnie, has been receiving services at St. Jude since March 1, 2021.
Winnie was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a childhood cancer. She had an extremely large tumor that filled most of her abdomen. Winnie received 8 rounds of chemotherapy to shrink the tumor, and had an intensive surgery to cut out as much of the tumor as possible. This surgery resulted in some serious complications (including Winnie losing a kidney).
Her medical team will never be able to get all the cancer out because of the location of the tumor (surrounding her aorta). Winnie continues to get frequent follow-up scans to monitor the cancer activity. It has been such a miracle for her family to be able to receive these life saving services at St. Jude Hospital. They are overwhelmed with gratitude at the generosity of people like you, that make her treatments possible!
Susan Muffett loves her children and grandchildren, and we are thankful to be able to pay tribute to her life in this way. Thank you for honoring her memory, and for making a difference in the life of Winnie and other St. Jude patients!
