Frank L. Restaino, age 83, passed away on September 20, 2021, at home in Lombard surrounded by his children. Loving son of the late Charles and Marie (nee Avena). Fond brother of the late Patricia Restaino. Beloved husband of Patricia (nee McCreary) and the late Barbara (nee Hoffman). Loving father of Frank, Lisa (Joe) Madonia, Michael (Sarah Cecil), Alissa (John Valenti). Devoted grandfather of Bella. Cousin and uncle to many.

Frank was born and raised in Elmwood Park, Illinois, and later raised his family in Westchester, Illinois. He attended St. Vincent Ferrer grammar school and graduated from Oak Park and River Forest High School.
Frank’s career started with his father, Charles, at London Jewelers in Chicago from 1951 to 1963. This is where his passion for jewelry started. Frank then followed his father’s footsteps into the furniture industry at Restano Furniture & Interiors in Chicago from 1963 to 1978. Frank then was involved with Frank/Charles & Associates in the Merchandise Mart from 1977 to 1986. He then opened his own showroom, Manufacturers Showcase, in the Merchandise Mart from 1978 to 1990. After this, Frank decided to branch off into retail with Accents on Accents in Chicago from 1995 to 2005. Frank had a great eye for decorating and a passion for helping clients make furniture and accessory selections for their home.
Frank was an avid sports fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears, and a collector of sports memorabilia. Frank loved traveling with his family, reading the daily newspapers, having a delicious Italian dinner, and coffee with his friends at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg.
Frank was always there for his children and their friends. He attended all their events including baseball, bowling, golf, tennis, and softball. He was always there to cheer for their teams.
Vacations were his number one priority with his family. Frank always looked forward to planning vacations and picking the best routes and sights to see. It was always an adventure whether it was driving or flying.
Frank enjoyed his years in retirement. He loved the time with his Granddaughter Bella. He was always in the audience at her dance recitals and school events. Frank also enjoyed antiquing, vacations, and many road trips with his wife Pat. He also discovered a new passion for cross country train trips.
Frank had a favorite charity; it was St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude in Frank’s honor.
