Alvin M. (Dick) Shuford passed from this life to the presence of God on March 20, 2021. He was born on March 1, 1945 in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana. He supported Allison Grace Callender, his granddaughter and best friend, through her successful fight with neuroblastoma at St. Jude Children’s Hospital in 2010-11. From the Tom Sawyer Campground to the grounds of the hospital to the halls of the Ronald McDonald House, everyone knew him and his Alli-Cat. Dad was much loved by his wife, Jacque Shuford, Alli’s parents, Paula and Doyle Callender, and Alli’s sister, Kate. Additionally, he will be missed by his daughter Amanda and her husband Joey, grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Cody), Jacy, Rayden, Raven, and Zeph. After Alli was healed, our family has continued to support this amazing place of healing by participating in the St. Jude Marathon Weekend, local races, and other functions. Families at St. Jude never pay anything for treatment. Your donations are incredible gifts to families like ours.
