I am raising funds to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital's lifesaving mission of finding cures for children like my daughter, Jaclyn.
On May 8, 2023, we took our daughter in for an MRI as I knew she was battling severe childhood migranes like I did a a childhood or something far worse.
With the scans taking longer than we were told I knew deep in my gut my hope of just migraines was wrong and something far worse was happening to our little girl. When the nurses finally came and got us, I knew instantly through their tear wiped eyes that my daughter had a tumor in her brain, but couldn’t have imagined how bad it actually was. It was so bad we weren’t allowed to leave the hospital and instead stayed for four days until brain surgery could be performed on our little three year old girl.
Surgery went as well as I could have prayed and hoped for and we are so thankful for her recovery. While the path ahead is still not clear and we face lots of unknowns because of how rare her brain tumor is, we know that we are able to face the uncertainty more easily because of the wonderful doctors and nurses that work for St. Jude and the children’s hospital.
Please help me raise money so that researchers can continue to find answers to rare diseases, cancers and tumors like we are facing, and so that more families can walk away with hope and not despair.
How your donation helps:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — so they can focus on helping their child live
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened in 1962. And we won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude shares the breakthroughs it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands of children.
Thank you for your support! Together we can help St. Jude change the world.
