I came across this fundraiser in my 12 foot skeleton FB group and I figured combining my love of skeletons with a fundraiser for childhood cancer was a no brainer and combines 2 things that I am passionate about!
For those that don't know me, or perhaps do and don't know what I do for work, I have spent the last 17 years working in clinical research. I have worked exclusively as a clinical research associate in oncology research since 2015 and have been lucky enough to work on a pediatric oncology study. Since 2016 I have traveled the US meeting some of the best pediatric oncologists and study teams that help treat pediatric leukemia patients on my study. Reading patient medical records day in and day out lets me know just how important St. Jude's is for patients and their families. These patients have enough stress with their diagnosis and taking away the financial burden is tremendous in the families ability to focus on what's important, fighting their cancer!
For the last 3 years I have enjoyed participating in a skeleton home decor tour on Instagram. It's a wonderful group of people who just love the spirit of Halloween during the fall (or year round!) and who enjoy seeing the creativity of others. Please feel free to follow me on IG @crissy.metz to see my skeleton clan's shenanigans every Friday night, and sometimes throughout the week!
Why I'm fundraising for St. Jude
Thanks to you donors like you, no family ever receives a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago.
Join me! Together we can help St. Jude change the world.
