Why We Support St. Jude
At The Hat we are all about supporting our community. After-all, we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the support of our community! We had been in business for a few years and finally had the epiphany that every big event provided an opportunity to give back somehow. St Patrick's day was missing a charitiable organization tie. We chose St. Jude back in 2016 because it made sense to us and it struck a nerve close to our hearts.
In 2014 Founding Owners Ryan and Erin had a huge scare when Erin came down with HELLP Syndrome. Their daughter Andi was born 8 weeks early and spent the first 25 days of her life in the NICU before finally getting to go home. Going through all of that opened our eyes to the rollercoaster of what it means to have a sick child. It is hell. And in those moments the support of the community means everything. The way they support families financially so that they can focus on what is important- supporting their sick kiddo so that they can get better- its essential. If we can help in some way with that, we will! Tying St. Jude to St. Patrick's day celebrations just seemed like a no-brainer.
We have proudly raised just over $28,000 for St. Jude's in the last 7 years. As we continue to participate year after year, we are figuring out how to get more involved. Last year we joined this walk/run and now we hope to grow our team and really blow up fundraising for this great organization!
We hope you will want to join our team, fundraise a bit and take a walk with us in September at the event! Thank you to anyone and everyone who helps support our team and fundraising efforts. We are so fortunate to be surrounded by so many generous, caring humans.
Aka: Mrs Hat :)
You can support by making a donation or joining our team! Can we count on your support?
When St. Jude opened in 1962, childhood cancer was considered incurable. Since then, treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent.
And because St. Jude shares the breakthroughs it makes, every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Thank you for supporting us and the lifesaving work happening at St. Jude today. Let’s cure childhood cancer. Together.
