My son, Isaac, is a basketball player, an OKC Thunder fan...and a fighter.

Isaac's journey with cancer began in February 2011 when he began experiencing headaches, neck muscle spasms and weight loss. His tumor, which was the size of a softball, was discovered through a CT scan on March 7, 2011. The tumor was lodged under the bone of his skull, creating massive pressure on his brain and spinal cord. If Isaac had gone one more day without discovery of the tumor, he most likely would have died.

At our local hospital, Isaac underwent three brain surgeries in eight days to save his life. The doctors removed all the cancerous tumor except a quarter-sized amount that remained attached to his brainstem. We were devastated. Nothing in our lives prepared us for the challenge of helping our son fight a battle against brain cancer. As Isaac recovered from his surgery, my wife and I looked into the best treatment options, a search that led us to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Isaac became a St. Jude patient on March 30, 2011.

After 31 doses of radiation administered to his brain and spine, four stem cell transplants, four rounds of high dose chemotherapy and seven brain surgeries - Isaac is back at home and back on the court. I am fully convinced that had we opted for traditional treatment...we would have mourned the loss of our son months ago.

We are so grateful to St. Jude for saving our son's life, and we want to help by setting up this Tributes page in honor of Isaac. Please help our family raise $5,000 during Hoops for St. Jude Week by making a donation. Thank you for all your support!!

We have decided to double our goal to $10,000!

Amazing - we have surpassed $5,000 in just a few days! We are so humbled by the incredible support we have received. In response, we have decided to double our goal to $10,000! With your continued contributions, we can make a significant difference in the lives of kids still undergoing treatment at St. Jude. Please consider donating to our page during Hoops for St. Jude Week (March 26-30). Our family is so grateful for your support!
