
Bettie Marie Shook Beeby, 89, died peacefully on Thursday, March 1, 2018 surrounded by family at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Originally from Frederick, MD, Bettie lived around the country as the wife of a naval officer and spent over 30 years in Erie, Pennsylvania, before returning to her hometown of Frederick as a resident of Buckingham’s Choice in Adamstown, MD. She enjoyed playing bridge, her weekly Thursday game nights and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Dr. James L. Beeby; her parents Jacob Murray and Helen Knill Shook; her brother William Irving “Pete” Shook; and her son-in-law Michael Minnaugh. She is survived by her three daughters, Michaela Barnes and her husband David of Bethesda, MD; Kimberly Minnaugh of Chicago, IL; and Brianna Schneider and her husband Christian of Darien, CT. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Allegra and Zoe Barnes; Erin, Jacob, and Conor Minnaugh; and Annabel, Madeleine, and Stefan Schneider.
