We're on a mission to raise $100,000 for St Jude through our larger team effort with the Chicago Design Alliance, a charity I co-founded with Devon Fromm! We need YOUR HELP!!! Ever dollar received goes a LONG way in helping these beautiful children battling the rarest forms of cancer know to men. Make a donation, get involved, BE THE CHANGE!!!
Why I support St. Jude:
- Families NEVER receive a bill from St. Jude for anything – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- St. Jude has helped push the overall survival rate for childhood cancer from less than 20% when we first opened our doors to 80% today. St. Jude won’t stop until no child dies from cancer.
- You may not have a child battling a rare form of cancer, but trust me, the research done at St Jude, which is freely shared with the medical community, has CERTAINLY had an impact on someone you know who's had, or currently battling, cancer!
More about our larger mission:
Why the Chicago Design Alliance? The answeris simple. Philanthropy is selfish, it makes you feel great aboutyourself while doing good for others. As a steward of the industry,I feel it is my job to help facilitate, foster, and grow the changes that Iwant to see amongst our peers, colleagues, and design friends. Wehave one of the most incredible design communities in the country, if not theworld. Our community thrives on amazing connection and networks, so it isour duty to reach out and leverage our power to do as much good as possible.
Why do I encourage us to pay it forward? Iowe a debt of gratitude to my mother, who passed away when I was 13, butleft an indelible impact on me. The quality of her character and herservice-minded nature were second to none. Her spirit stands firm atthe roots of who I am as an individual today. It is the idea of her, looking down on me today, that gives me the energy and motivation to live theexample I want to see others emulate. So it is in her name, CynthiaRae Cook-Moriarty, that I ask you to join me in showing the world howincredibly charitable the Chicago Design Community can be! Theimpact of one person can be powerful; but the impact of an aligned group ofindividuals can truly change the world!
