My name is Tony Balassone & every year my wife, Leslie, and I choose a charity for which to raise money. Last year, we supported the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in memory of my Uncle Dick who succumbed to the disease at only age 50. Since MS was very personal mission for us, I added a twist that I had not done before: A Golf Marathon.
When Brian Freeswick, General Manager, Trump National Golf Club, Hudson Valley, heard about my mission, he and the Trump family were generous enough to donate the Hudson Valley course for the entire day to raise money for this great cause.
In a single day, I played 90 holes and walked over 26 miles – raising nearly $30,000.00 for MS.
This year, my wife and I didn’t hesitate to raise money on behalf of The Eric Trump Foundation for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, as our way of saying thank you to the Trump family for being so supportive of our golf marathon last year.
On June 23, 2014, I hope to set a new Guinness Book World Record on behalf of The Eric Trump Foundation by playing 450 holes of golf over a 12 hour period. Unlike last year, I will be using a golf cart instead of walking in order to accomplish the same.
Please support my efforts for the kids of St. Jude and donate today!
We also welcome you to join us for dinner on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Trump National Golf Club, Hudson Valley, to celebrate this event and raise even more money for the kids of St. Jude! The dinner will feature an amazing live auction with all kinds of one-of-a-kind items, including golf lessons with PGA professionals, golf & travel packages, as well as rare sports memorabilia.
Dinner tickets are $125/each and must be purchased via Erin Murray, emurray@trumpnational.com, no later than Friday, July 11, 2014. She will instruct you as to your payment options.
I would already like to thank several of my generous sponsors, especially Camo Pollution Control, Sysco Food Services, Dutchess Beer and Kagan Meats. You make this all possible.
My only two (2) goals for this year are to raise even more money for another great cause and survive the golf marathon without passing out!
Wish me luck for the children of St. Jude!
Sincerely,
Tony & Leslie Balassone
