Now in my fifth year, I will once again be taking part in the Champaign to Peoria Run, leaving August 4. As the coordinator, what I love about this run is the people who take part. We are a group of around 30 who truly believe in the cause and who run with a purpose. There are no goals of miles or PR's. We simply want to run because we can, and run for those who can't. Last year, our incredible team raised a record-breaking amount for our Run, with $57,000 donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Over my many years of volunteering with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, I continue to meet people who are fighting for their children's lives. The everyday tasks that we do with our children become monumental hurdles for the families dealing with childhood cancer. I am grateful everyday for the health of my children and myself. But I know that if one day I should have to endure this battle, St. Jude would be there for my family.
Did you know?
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing and food—because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Because the majority of St. Jude funding comes from individual contributors, St. Jude has the freedom to focus on what matters most – saving kids regardless of their financial situation.
- St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90 percent in the next decade.
St. Jude won't stop until no child dies of cancer, and neither will I. Will you support me by making a donation?
I sincerely appreciate every dollar donated to St. Jude. Thank you for supporting me in my efforts to help end this battle.
