I need your help! I am participating in the St. Jude Chicago to Peoria Run. During that time, 200 runners will cover 160 miles in 36 hours during the two-day run from Chicago to Peoria. At the same time, groups of other runners from all over Illinois as well as Tennessee and Missouri will also be running to Peoria. On that Saturday, tired and exhausted, we will meet in Peoria and cross the finish line live on the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital regional telethon.
I have challenged myself to finish this demanding race and run as many miles as possible! Please show me your support by donating to this cause! All runners are required to raise a minimum of $1,500 to participate in the run. All proceeds from the run benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Last year, I raised over $2,000 for the children and families of St. Jude, through the generous donations and support of people like you. I need your help to surpass that total!!
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is a world-renowned center for the treatment and research of life threatening childhood diseases, such as cancer, sickle-cell anemia, and pediatric AIDS. Since the Hospital’s founding in 1962, by late entertainer Danny Thomas, it has treated more than 20,000 children from around the world. All children are treated regardless of race, religion or ability to pay. Research findings are shared freely with doctors and clinics all over the world. Because of this, St. Jude is known as the “hospital without walls.” The work done at St. Jude not only helps its patients, but improves the lives of all children. Since its inception, St. Jude has increased childhood cancer survival rates from 20% to better than 80% overall.
If you choose to support me in this event, donate on this website or wait for my mail-out and make your check payable to “St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital” and return it to me enclosed in the return letter I wil provide you. This is a cause I truly believe in and I hope you will join me in helping to save the life of a child.
