I am participating in a St. Jude Peoria Run and raising money to help St. Jude Children's Research Hospital find cures and save children battling childhood cancer and other deadly diseases. 2017 will be my 14th consecutive year participating in this event. It means a lot to me to be able to help the patients of St. Jude. A lot of progress is being made, but there is still a long way to go. I run for those who can't.
For those of you not familiar with the St. Jude Run, it is a 150 mile run over the course of 30 hours, this year it is on August 4th and 5th. All of the participants have been busy all year raising money for St. Jude Children's Hospital for months before embarking on the run.
Over the past 13 years, I have met many St. Jude patients and their families. You can not imagine how grateful they are for people like you who donate to the cause. St. Jude has come a long way in the battle against cancer, but the need our continued support to keep winning battles, one by one.
Some facts about St. Jude
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing and food—because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Because the majority of St. Jude funding comes from individual contributors, St. Jude has the freedom to focus on what matters most – saving kids regardless of their financial situation.
- St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90 percent in the next decade.
St. Jude won't stop until no child dies of cancer, and neither will I. Will you support me by making a donation?
Thank you for your help.
