Dear Friends and Family,
I'm participating in the St. Jude Math-A-Thon for the 6th year in a row. For the past 3 years I received an award. I was the first person to receive this award two years in a row, and was recognized in front of Sayreville, NJ Board of Education for my fundraising efforts. I raised the highest donations using primarily online fundraising. I could not have done this without you! THANK YOU!!!!
I do this to help St. Jude find a cure for kids with cancer. Not only do we learn about the lives of children with cancer and their battles, I receive a math booklet to complete. The booklet also includes various facts about childhood cancer. I even get to learn a little about some of the patients.
Did you know:
Families never receive a bill from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
Just like previous years, my town has been hosting fundraisers for a boy, my age, in our town battling cancer. Thanks to the fundraising, he was able to go into remission, again. This year we have a young adult, in Sayreville, that we are fundraising for as well. My mom and Aunt Bina found out at 12 they had a genetic pre-colon cancer, that's young. My mom lost a friend at 16 to cancer. I know my Nonna Roe, Poppy Lenny and Nononna were adults, but they each battled cancer, too. I saw Poppy L and Nononna die from their cancer. Thanks to technology and the new tests available, my mom has been able to rule out cancer, on more than once.
I don't want to see anyone else die. We can't have parents and grandparents if kids get cancer and die. Kids grow up to become the parents and grandparents. We are always told, children are tomorrow’s future. What future do we have if we keep losing children to cancer.
This fundraiser is my favorite one. Each year I have reached my goal, even went beyond! This year my goal is $420. PLEASE SUPPORT ME! One year, someone donated $1, all so I could achieve my goal. It was totally awesome and greatly appreciated!
